HEALTH SUPERVISION FOR INFANTS, CHILDREN AND ADOLESCENTS
“Bahaghari”, the Filipino term for rainbow, is a guideline for health supervision of infants, children, and adolescents adapted from the Bright Futures Guidelines of the American Academy of Pediatrics. Six core concepts are highlighted: Partnership, Anticipatory Guidance, Health Promotion/Illness Prevention, Time Management and Education.
Its main OBJECTIVE is to promote child health through the strengthening of health promotion and preventive anticipatory care through a pocket reference guideline. It serves as a quick reference tool for practitioners, residents in training, medical students and other pediatric healthcare professionals.
To date, five editions have been published: 2002, 2004, 2009, 2013 and 2019. The fifth edition includes issues on mental health.
