Discussion on the formation of a coalition to address tobacco control and reduce exposure to second hand tobacco smoke ? February 16, 2011at the National Institute of Health, UP Manila

The Philippine Ambulatory Pediatric Association (PAPA) convened last February 16, 2011 at the National Institutes of Health, Manila representatives from various medical organizations to discuss the formation of a coalition to address tobacco control and reduce exposure to second hand tobacco smoke. 

Dr. Maria Jocelyn N. Quidlat, Chair of PAPA’s Committee for Tobacco Control and Advocacy, together with Dr. Susan Mercado, Team Leader for Tobacco Free Initiatve of WHO-WPRO and Dr. Anthony Calibo of the Department of Health, led the roundtable discussion which demonstrated the interest of all the participants to work together as a group. Several of the attendees pledged their commitment to be part of a coalition and to work actively towards the achievement of the goal of the coalition.
